News Archive - Web Logs - Press Releases Aug 14, 2006 - 04:15 PM Tandori Porkby Jamie Court & Mark RebackGovernor Schwarzenegger announced recently he would be leading a business delegation to India to drum up biz with California. The Gov said his wife Maria Shriver convinced him. "We need to see how California can increase trade with India. How India can manufacture more for California. We must find where we can share technologies," he said. Schwarzenegger then proceeded to pick the pockets of 35 Indian business leaders and their wives for $98,000, according to recent campaign finance reports. Trade with India may be in California's best interest, but currying favor with Indian business leaders by using the power of his office before shaking them down was certainly in the interest of Schwarzenegger's campaign war chest. --------------- E-mail comments to ArnoldWatch at arnoldwatch@consumerwatchdog.org |
