News Archive - Web Logs - Press Releases Apr 20, 2005 - 11:15 AM Green Buildingby Jamie CourtAs Arnold tours the California Environmental Protection Agency this morning to tout his "Green Building" initiative, the Gov should be challenged over which type of green he really cares about. Developers and real estate interests have given Schwarzenegger over $6 million in campaign contributions and his Administration is working to deliver on one of developers' biggest dreams -- removing rules under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which requires that the impact on the environment be considered before developers break ground. Schwarzenegger paints himself as a "Green Republican." If the hummer wasn't enough to betray that image, his attack on CEQA on behalf of Arnold's biggest contributors shows the green the Gov cares most about is builders' bucks. --------------- E-mail comments to ArnoldWatch at arnoldwatch@consumerwatchdog.org |
