News Archive - Web Logs - Press Releases Sacramento Bee Oct 24, 2005 - 01:00 AM by Kevin Yamamura Cartoonish electionDon't let your kids watch these cartoons.Schwarzenegger's campaign Web site features a clip of two "union bosses" -- with green alien-like skin -- driving up to a school and turning a teacher upside down as change falls from her pockets. "All right, boys, time to shake down another one," a gravelly voice mutters. Last week, the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights and the California Nurses Association put up its own cartoon with Schwarzenegger groping Minerva in the state seal. With voters yawning over the special election, maybe it'll take outlandish cartoons to wake up the electorate. "How do you find a way to make something like the amount of money that gets spent in a campaign interesting?" said Schwarzenegger spokesman Todd Harris about his Web site's animation. -------------- The Bee's Kevin Yamamura can be reached at 916-326-5548 or kyamamura@sacbee.com --------------- E-mail comments to ArnoldWatch at arnoldwatch@consumerwatchdog.org |
